Some Wapello Junior High TAG students are at SCC in Burlington today to participate in the SEISC Science Fair. Sixth graders Addi Strickland and Allie Schwartz did their project on how color affects people's perceptions of taste. Sixth graders Tycen Wright and Maverick Matthews explored the effect of temperature on rates of diffusion using Skittles. Seventh grader Wes Parsons made a wind turbine and explored whether or not wind speed impacts weight bearing. This is the first time any of these students have participated in a science fair, so we are proud of their willingness to try something new! Good luck, Wes, Maverick, Addi, and Allie!

Makahla and Abbie from Arctic Dental visited kindergarten today. They talked to us about proper brushing, what a visit to the dentist looks like, and how to keep our teeth and gums healthy. Abbie chose Camila to practice being a dental hygienist. She was a pro! Makahla read a story to us about Doug the Sugar Bug and how he loves sugary foods like candy and pop to create cavities in our teeth, but he doesn't like healthy foods like fruits and cheese. Thank you, Arctic Dental, Abbie, and Makahla, for teaching us how important it is to take care of our teeth!🦷🪥
