The Junior High Music Concert will be held in the Wapello High School Auditorium this evening at 7:00 p.m. The concert will feature musical selections from the 5th Grade Band, 6th Grade Band, and 7-8 Grade Band as well as selections performed by the 6-8 Choir! Come out and support the future of the Wapello Band Program!

The Wapello Community School District would like to thank the family of Ernie and Judy Gerst for their generous memorial gift of a bench located at the Wapello Elementary Flagpole. Ernie and Judy were long time supporters of the Wapello School District, with Ernie serving as a bus driver for many years. Thank you to the Gerst Family for your gift, it will serve as a reminder to those that use it what great supporters of the district Ernie and Judy were.

The Indians and Arrows Track and Field Teams will compete in the Class 2A District Track Meet this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at Tipton High School. This meet will determine the state meet participants. Best of luck to all of our athletes!

The FFA Greenhouse will be open today for their annual plant sale! They will be open from 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. today. Don't have a green thumb or the time to pot your plants? Drop off your pots and FFA members will take care of it for you for the cost of the plants and soil!
The Indians will be playing their Sectional Golf Meet today at the Wahkonsa Country Club in Wilton. They will tee off at 10:00 a.m. this morning. Best of luck to the Indians as their road to the State Meet begins today.

Today’s Staff Feature Friday shines the spotlight on one of our Wapello High School Social Studies teachers, Mr. Brandon Brown. Mr. Brown also serves as the Head Baseball Coach of the Indians, Head Girls Basketball Coach of the Arrows, and a Junior High Football Coach. Mr. Brown along with his wife, Megan, and daughter Alexis reside in Wapello.
Mr. Brown is in his 15th year of teaching, and all 15 years have been in the Wapello Community School District. Mr. Brown holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Mount St. Claire College and a Masters of Education from the University of Illinois.
In his spare time, Mr. Brown enjoys hunting and fishing as well as producing his line of duck and goose calls for his company, Full Tilt Fowlers.
When we asked Mr. Brown what he likes best about working for the Wapello Community School District, he had this to say, “Small community atmosphere, and a truly caring staff!”
