The Junior High Indians will take on the Junior High Wildcats from Columbus tonight @ Columbus. First game of the night will be the 8th Graders starting at 4:30 followed by the 7th Graders. Games will be played at the Roundy Elementary Gym. #wearewapello #wapellotribepride

The results from last night's test of the new notification system look very good, only a handful of numbers in the system that we need to look into as to why they weren't successful. One thing that we did find out with this new system, the system is voice activated, it listens for a voice or your voice mail tone before it starts to play the recording. At 7:00 p.m. this evening (2/13/2019) we will conduct a test of our school notification system. We will soon begin using the system that is integrated with our website and mobile app. If you do not receive the call this evening, there are two different options to sign up for this service. 1. Go to our website, select the Menu, and under the Heading Parent Resources, you will see a link that is titled SIGN UP FOR WAPELLO SCHOOL PHONE/EMAIL ALERTS. Click on that link, a Google Form will pop up with instructions on how to add your information to our database. 2. From the Mobile App: Open the Wapello CSD App on your mobile device. From the menu, select About Us. A screen will open that will give you a link to the same Google Form with instructions on how to add your information to our database. The calls will originate from (319)527-1462. Please program this number into your phone as the Wapello CSD School Alert System. We want to wish our Wrestlers, Coaches, and Cheerleaders the best of luck as they leave later today for Des Moines for the State Wrestling Tournament. It has been many years since Wapello has had four state qualifiers and we are all cheering you on from home wishing you the best as you chase a state title! The Wapello Indians will start Post Season Play this evening against the Columbus Wildcats. Tip off is scheduled for approximately 8:00 p.m., this game will follow the L-M vs Wilton game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Admission is $6 for Students and Adults. Some of our Tomahawk Wrestling Club Members want to wish our WHS Wrestling Team the best of luck at the State Wrestling Tournament. A few of the Tomahawk Wrestlers selected a WHS Wrestler and gave a quick quote as to why they look up to them. Kason Dopler selected Christopher Ewart - "I see him work hard in the wrestling room. He inspires me to work harder! Roman Hamilton selected Colton Meeker - “He is my favorite wrestler. He always picks me up and slams me down!” Cohen Wolford selected Mitchell Moore - “I like Mitchell because he is a great wrestler.” Max Dopler Selected Daniel Meeker - “He is a great wrestler, he has so many pins. I want to be like him.” Dayne Hogue also selected Daniel Meeker - “He works hard in the wrestling room everyday. That’s why he is so good!” Tasker Timmerman Selected Mitchell Moore - “ I want to be like him when I grow up and go to the state tournament.” Best of luck to our athletes! The next generation of wrestlers are watching closely as you compete this week!

Wednesday, February 13 and Thursday, February 14 will both be full days of school for students.
