Happy July 7th! We are asking parents to complete the survey(s) that are located on our website. Click on the link at the bottom of the homepage. There are four surveys broken out by grade level. We ask that you complete the survey(s) that correspond to the grades your children were in during the 2019-2020 school year. For instance, if you had a 1st grader and a 4th grader, you would complete two of the four surveys. The information collected will be used to help us plan for the upcoming school year. The board will be reviewing the district's reopening plans at their meeting on July 8, 2020. Once the board has a chance to review the information, it will be shared with the public via our normal communication channels. Thank you, in advance, for completing the appropriate surveys. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Return to Learn Update:
Happy Tuesday afternoon! It's been a while since I've sent out an update, and I'm sure people have questions. July 1 is the magic date by which all school districts have to submit their Return to Learn plans to the state. This plan is very, very different from plans for reopening school in the fall. The Return to Learn plan is basically a series of check boxes that indicate what sources of data districts will collect as they continue to plan. Reopening school buildings is a very different process. Plans and discussions are ongoing about schedules, cleaning strategies, traffic flow, etc...The recent reopening guidance from the state clearly says that schools are to plan on meeting in-person in the fall. Questions about requiring face masks and other logistical issues are going to need to be discussed further with more guidance from the state. There is very little about the COVID-19 landscape that is solid and unchanging. One thing that you can take to the bank is that everyone connected to the school district is working, thinking, and planning for the most effective ways to keep everyone as safe as possible as we resume school this fall. There will be more information coming out throughout the summer. As always, let me know if you have any questions.

It's Graduation Day! The plan is to hold our ceremony outside, starting at 7:00 at the football field. Now, everybody cross your fingers, toes, and eyes and hope that Mother Nature cooperates. It's going to be a great day!

Graduation information:
Mother Nature always wants to keep us on our toes. With possible rain in the forecast for the weekend, I want to let everyone know our plan in case of bad weather.
Sunday morning, we will be making the decision whether to hold the ceremony on the football field or inside the high school. If we must be inside, the graduates and ticket holders will be in the practice gym. Additional guests will be in the competition gym and can watch a livestream of the ceremony.
Regardless of inside or outside, the ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am excited for this ceremony. This has been a bizarre year, and I am just happy we can celebrate the class of 2020 with a traditional graduation!
As always, let me know if you have any questions.
