Wapello High School would like to welcome twelve German exchange students to our community! These students will attend class, extracurricular activities, events, and give presentations to our students. We also are honored to welcome their teachers and chaperones as they support their students and collaborate with our teachers.

A big shout out to Mr. Brooks, WHS Social Studies teacher, for coordinating this experience!

Wapello MS/HS Plans "My Hometown Day" Activities for Community Service

Wapello Middle School/High School students are gearing up for a special day of community service on Wednesday, April 29th, as they participate in “My Hometown Day” activities. The event aims to give back to the local communities of Wapello, Cairo, and Oakville, with students engaged in cleanup efforts throughout these areas.

Students will spend the day working on various tasks such as picking up trash, raking leaves, and sprucing up public parks and roadways. The initiative is part of a broader effort to honor “Earth Day” by contributing to the maintenance and beauty of the surrounding communities.

In addition to public spaces, the students are also offering their assistance to individuals who may need help with yard work. Whether it’s raking leaves or tidying up outdoor spaces, this service is being provided at no charge to residents.
Community members with projects that need attention are encouraged to contact the Wapello High School office at 319-523-3241 to arrange for students to assist.

The service project is a wonderful example of the school's commitment to fostering civic responsibility and environmental stewardship among our students.

FYI for track meets at Mediapoils...

Due to road construction/road closure near our elementary school addition the following changes will need to be made regarding parking. Buses and vans will access the track on the South side of the high school via Iowa Street. Buses and vans can drop off athletes and park there. We ask that all spectators park on the east side of the building and walk through the elementary school to access the track. See the map for more detail.
