Wapello High School in partnership with Mediapolis High School and Great River Athletic Training, will be hosting an Athletic Training Equipment Drive on Friday, December 21 when the Mediapolis Bulldogs come to Wapello High School to take on the Arrows and Indians in SEISC Basketball Action.
Fans can bring gently used equipment to the varsity basketball games to be donated to their respective school. Great River Heath Systems will take all of the donated equipment and sanitize and inventory the equipment, then return the items that were donated by Wapello fans to the Wapello High School Athletic Department and those items that were donated by Mediapolis fans will be returned to the Mediapolis High School Athletic Department.
Examples of items that can be donated include: Braces, Crutches, Orthopaedic Boots, Slings, and Splints. Items that can not be accepted include: Wheel Chairs, Walkers, and Canes. For each item that is donated, fans will receive a raffle ticket that will enter them into a drawing for some great prizes from Great River Health Systems. Some of those prizes include a Health Fitness Climbing Tower Party, Sweatshirt, or T-Shirt. Donors will receive one entry for each item donated. Everyone is a winner in this friendly competition!
Come early to donate your gently used athletic equipment to your school's athletic department and stay to watch some great basketball as an age old rivalry will play out between two great schools with some of the finest athletes in southeast Iowa. Junior Varsity Games will kick off the action at 4:30 with the Varsity Girls will start at approximately 6:00 p.m. and the Varsity Boys will take the floor in the last contest of the evening at approximately 7:30 p.m.
