KWQC TV-6 in the Quad Cities visited Wapello High School on Monday, November 19 to continue to tell the story of Mr. Bill Dunham, the Wapello JR/SR High Industrial Arts teacher for winning second place in the Harbor Freight Tools Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence.
Dunham was presented his award in a surprise all school assembly on Thursday, November 15 by Harbor Freight Tools Representative Mr. Kevin Hundgate. The prize carries a value of $50,000. Of that $50,000, $35,000 goes to the school to improve the educational program of Mr. Dunham and $15,000 goes to Dunham personally. We are proud to share the video from KWQC TV-6 as Mr. Dunham himself tells more about his passion for teaching today's students as well as some of his colleagues share their excitement for Mr. Dunham and his program. The Wapello Community School District would like to congratulate Mr. Dunham again for his success in entering the contest and for being a valued staff member of the Wapello Community School District.
