This Friday's Wapello Community School District Staff Feature Friday spotlight's Mrs. Ashley Brockway! Mrs. Brockway is one of our Junior High Special Education Teachers. In addition to her teaching role, Mrs. Brockway also serves as the Assistant High School Softball Coach and Junior High Track and Field Coach.
Mrs. Brockway previously taught Special Education at Wapello Elementary and then transitioned to the Junior High when the 6th grade was moved to the secondary campus in the 2018-2019 school year. Mrs. Brockway has taught for five years, and all five years have been at the Wapello Community School District. Mrs. Brockway holds an Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education from William Penn University. While at William Penn, she also completed her Reading, Special Education, and Coaching Endorsements. Currently, Mrs. Brockway is pursuing her Master's Degree in Special Education from Morningside College.
Her family includes her husband Logan, and her two dogs, Mojo and Bronco. Mrs. Brockway is also anxiously awaiting twins that will be born in early 2020! In her spare time, you will find Mrs. Brockway spending time with her husband and their dogs, and when time allows, she loves to enjoy time spent outside.
Our last question for Ms. Brockway was, "What do you like about working at the Wapello Community School District? Her response was, "I love the relationships I build with each one of the students I work with, as well as coaching Junior High Track and Varsity Softball."
Congratulations to Mrs. Brockway on being selected for our Staff Feature Friday! Check back next Friday for another staff member to be featured!
