Elks National Foundation - Most Valuable Student
Eligibility:
Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks.
High school graduates are not eligible to apply.
Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are submitted; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.

Quad City Regional Auto Show Scholarship
Applicant must attend or plan to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university.
Applicant will have a (step)parent, guardian, or (step)grandparent working “full time” at a new car dealership for more than one year or the applicant has been working “full or part time” at a new car dealership for more than one year located within the counties listed.
Applicant must not have previously received an Auto Show Scholarship.
Criteria to be considered include, but are not limited to, the applicant’s participation in extracurricular activities, community service, work experience, and academic achievement. Academic achievement is secondary to the essay, school activities, community activities and work history.
Two letters of recommendation are required: one from someone employed at the sponsoring dealership (preferably an owner, or general manager of the dealership) and the second from a reference of the applicant’s choosing. Conservation Scholarship presented by the Conservation Districts of Iowa
Applicants must be:
Iowa High School Class of 2024 students pursuing programs of study in any field of conservation or agriculture qualifies for the Conservation Scholarship.
While this is a wide field and many studies qualify, preference will be given to students pursuing programs of study in conservation.
The scholarship must be used for the student’s first year of college education

The Iowa Newspaper Foundation is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to champion the quality and future of Iowa’s newspaper enterprises and the communities they serve. One avenue by which we fulfill that mission is providing scholarships to students pursuing college degrees leading to careers in the newspaper industry.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic record, demonstrated talent and desire to work for an Iowa newspaper or locale as listed in the scholarship descriptions.
Some consideration will be given to financial need. Most awards are limited to students attending Iowa colleges, universities and community colleges; see scholarship descriptions for details.

Every year, Ducks Unlimited (DU) awarded 61 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are members of DU.
The scholarship program is open to all senior student members; however, it is targeted to volunteers who have shown an exceptional level of commitment to wetlands conservation through participation in their DU Varsity (high school) club/chapter and/or local DU community chapter.
In addition, students must maintain a 2.8 or higher cumulative high school GPA to apply.

Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education Scholarship
Applicants must be committed to the pursuit of automotive-related studies, such as technician training, body shop/collision repair, diesel, new vehicle sales, parts sales, accounting, or business administration.
Applicants must submit the following to be considered for a scholarship:
A paragraph written by the applicant detailing their career goals and interest in pursuing an automotive career.
A recommendation from a high school or college teacher, counselor, or co-worker.
An unofficial transcript of high school or college grades.
A copy of page 1 of the applicant’s Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applicants without this will not be eligible for the scholarships based in part on financial need.

Bishop Educational Trust Scholarship
A select number of scholarships awarded to students who have the desire to attend college in the state of Iowa but need financial assistance in pursuing their educational goals. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and are required to submit their FAFSA SAR report or their parents most recent income tax return. Applicants must attend a college or university in the state of Iowa with a preference given to students attending Muscatine Community College.
Don and Donna Williams Scholarship
Up to four $1,000 scholarship awards for Wapello High School graduating seniors pursuing post-secondary education in the state of Iowa. Applicants should demonstrate financial need, a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, leadership skills, good character, work experience, extra-curricular activities, and community service experience. This scholarship fund was established by Don, a lifelong farmer in Louisa County, and his wife Donna, a physical therapist.
Edwin R. Hicklin Memorial Scholarship
Up to three $1,000 scholarship awards given in memory of Edwin R. Hicklin, for a Wapello High School graduating senior enrolling in a post-secondary educational institution in the state of Iowa. Applicants should demonstrate financial need, leadership skills, good character, work experience, extra-curricular activities, and community service experience.
Michel's Family Educational Trust Scholarship
A select number of scholarships awarded to students who have the desire and ability to attend college but may need financial support. Recipient must attend Muscatine Community College or Drake University. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and are required to submit their FAFSA SAR report or their parents most recent income tax return.
Ray and Evelyn Werner Educational, Human Services, or Agriculture Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship award given in honor of Ray and Evelyn Werner who spent their lives educating and helping others. This award is for a Wapello High School graduating senior with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater, pursuing post-secondary education full-time at a 2- or 4-year college or university in the state of Iowa to pursue a career in education, a human services or agriculture-related field.

First Friday Breakfast Club Scholarship
FFBC awards $3,000 scholarships to Iowa high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership in efforts to increase education and understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues and reduce homophobia in their schools and/or communities.

Tri-Rivers Conservation Foundation Director's Scholarship
This is a $1,000 scholarship. Payment will be made out to the recipient and the academic institution in November, after receiving a copy of the recipient’s class schedule.
The Tri-Rivers Conservation Foundation Board of Directors reviews applications and selects the recipient.
The selected candidate must be a graduate of a Louisa Resource Area high school with plans to attend a college, university or technical school.
The candidate’s area of study must lead to a degree in natural resources/conservation or the candidate must provide a convincing argument for either professional or personal justification that the candidate’s post high school study will support Tri-Rivers Conservation Foundation’s objectives. Students pursuing academic studies in conservation related fields or curriculum that can play a part in support of conservation may apply.
Eligibility is open to freshmen through post graduate.
The scholarship may be granted multiple years to the same candidate.

Tri-Rivers Conservation Foundation - William J. Paris Conservation Scholarship
This is a $1,000 scholarship. Payment will be made out to the recipient and the academic institution in November, after receiving a copy of the recipient’s class schedule.
The Tri-Rivers Conservation Foundation Board of Directors reviews applications and selects the recipient.
The selected candidate must be a graduate of a Louisa County high school or a Louisa County resident planning to attend an Iowa college, university or technical school.
Study emphasis must lead to a degree in a natural resources/conservation; or in another field, such as education. Candidates with a study emphasis outside of natural resources/conservation must provide either professional or personal justifications for why the candidate's emphasis of study will meet the scholarship objectives noted above.
Eligibility is open to any year of study (freshmen through post graduate).

Dedicated to helping students graduate debt free from college
Eligibility:
ACT and SAT scores are not required.
Must attend an Eligible Public High School.
FAFSA EFC must not exceed $6,500.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.

SFM Foundation / Kids Chance Scholarship
To be eligible for a scholarship, you must:
Be the natural, adopted, step-child or full dependent of a worker injured or killed in a work-related accident during the course and scope of employment with an employer based in Minnesota or Iowa and entitled to receive benefits under the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Act, Iowa Workers’ Compensation Act or other comparable benefit program exclusive to work-related injuries.
Be a Minnesota or Iowa resident between the ages of 16 and 27 at the time of the application.
Be a citizen of the United States or a lawful permanent resident.
Have a high school diploma, GED or be a high school student in good standing. Academic achievement, aptitude, extracurricular activities, number of hours the applicant works and community service of the applicant are all considered. Grade point average will be reviewed against the number of hours the applicant works and his or her community involvement.
Be pursuing a primary college or university degree (bachelor’s or associate’s), vocational education and training (certificate or license) or master’s degree from an accredited school.

Roger Menke Memorial Scholarship
To be eligible for Roger Menke Memorial College Scholarship, student athletes must meet all
the following criteria:
Be a graduating senior and member of a varsity high school athletic program served by
Roger Menke in his officiating career.

The $500 scholarship will be given to a high school senior girl who exhibits the values of the organization , including education, life-long learning and volunteerism.

Louisa County Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Conservation Scholarship~$1,000
Applicant's must:
Students should be graduating seniors with a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
Students must be pursuing a career in conservation, natural resources, environmental
education, conservation law enforcement, biology or related field at an accredited
institution of higher education (i.e. Junior College, Community College. Technical
College, College or University).Students must demonstrate leadership skills and the motivation to participate in
extracurricular activities.Students must demonstrate a commitment to and passion for conservation and

Apply for funding to pursue a post-secondary education in the arts. The Scholarship for the Arts provides support to Iowa high school seniors who excel and demonstrate a commitment to pursuing an arts-related major at an Iowa college or university.

The Trace Dossett Memorial Educational Scholarship
Criterion:
The amount of the scholarship will be $1000.
The money will be used to further the student’s education in a post secondary
institution. Scholarship will be rewarded at the beginning of the second

Demonstrate a positive attitude toward education. Written reference letters of that attitude from at least two teachers and/or administrators.

T.R. Helmig Memorial Scholarship Offered by Solid Rock Baptist Church
The Thatcher Ray Helmig Memorial Scholarship, administered by Solid Rock Baptist Church, was established in 2011 in memory of the infant son of Thadeaus and Cherrish Helmig. This is a competitive scholarship open to high school seniors of who have
(1) residence in Louisa County regardless of high school location,
(2) a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0,
(3) accepted the Christian faith, and
(4) plans to enroll full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours) as an undergraduate college student for the fall term of the 2024-2025 academic year.

Leo H. Grether Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must:
be a citizen of the State of Iowa;
be a graduating senior;
be enrolling in college as a vocal music education major
submit a tape containing two selections of a contrasting nature;
submit a listing of school music participation and accomplishments;
provide a letter listing music involvement in church and/or community cosigned by the pastor or civic leader;
submit a one-page essay entitled, “Why I Have Chosen Choral Music Education As A Career.”

Mutual Telephone Company of Morning Sun & Louisa Communications
This is the 25th consecutive year that the Mutual Telephone Company of Morning Sun has given a scholarship to a graduating senior. This year we hope to present a $500 scholarship to chosen seniors whose primary residence has dial tone phone or internet service provided by Mutual Telephone Company of Morning Sun or Louisa Communications.

The Keokuk Area Community Foundation and the North Lee County Community Foundation established the Matteson Scholarship. This scholarship will be ONLY be awarded to high school seniors, as well as, continuing education students pursuing studies in agriculture, health/medical sciences, nursing, engineering, information technology or trades.
To be eligible for the Matteson Scholarship, students and working adults must live (or have a permanent address) in the Iowa Counties of Lee, Des Moines or Henry. The Matteson Scholarship also accepts scholarship applications from graduates of Wapello Senior High in Louisa County.
Applicants must have at least a 2.0 GPA but not more than a 3.5 GPA. A GPA of 3.5 and higher will be considered but special circumstances must be met under this program.
Selection criteria will include financial need, personal character, and career goals. Preference will be given to students seeking a two-year degree or completion of a certificate program.

Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities Scholarship
To be eligible, candidates must be the child or grandchild of a person employed by an IAMU member (utility, associate, or affiliate).
Applicants must demonstrate a history of participation in school activities or groups and/or community leadership.

Two Rivers Bank & Trust is sponsoring a scholarship to a graduating senior from Wapello Community High School.
The scholarship will be $250 per year assuming satisfactory progress toward graduation. Thus, the scholarship could be as much as $1,000 for a student attending a four year school.

Applicants must:
Be an Iowa resident and graduate from an Iowa high school.
Be admitted as a new freshmen to Mount Mercy.
Reside all four years on Mount Mercy’s campus during the academic year.
Participate in Mount Mercy’s College Success Program during their first year on campus.
File the FAFSA prior to July 1 (first year) and May 1 (subsequent years) that shows family income of $50,000 or less and Pell Grant eligibility.
